Flying from Dubai? Here is what Dubai International Airport states about liquids and electronics in hand luggage.
100 ml limit
Dubai Airports still publishes the 100 ml rule: each container must be 100 ml or less, with up to ten containers (one litre) in a clear, resealable plastic bag inside your hand baggage. Take that bag out at the checkpoint and put laptops and tablets in a separate tray.

What this means at Dubai International Airport
- Airport states: container must not exceed 100 ml, maximum of 10 containers, equivalent to one litre.
- Liquids must be in a clear, resealable plastic bag carried within your hand baggage and separated for screening.
- Laptops and iPads/tablets must be placed in a separate security tray.
- Exemptions apply for medication, baby milk/foods and special dietary requirements for use during the trip.
- The airport states that any medication you carry must have a prescription.
- Dubai Airports has begun installing AI-powered hand-luggage scanners and its CEO has said these will eventually end the need to take liquids and laptops out; as at 20 September 2026 the airport's own published rules still show the 100 ml limit, so pack to the 100 ml rule.
- Controlled and narcotic medicines (for example codeine and tramadol) require an advance import permit from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) for personal use.
- The airport page does not state duty-free or transit-specific liquid rules.
