What this means at Hong Kong International Airport

  • Airport states: all LAGs should be in containers no larger than 100 ml and packed in a transparent resealable plastic bag with a capacity of 1 litre or less; only one bag per passenger.
  • Airport states: electronic and metallic items in your hand baggage or on your person should be placed in a separate tray for security check.
  • Hong Kong's Civil Aviation Department confirms the bag has to be presented separately from other cabin baggage for visual examination at the screening point (https://www.cad.gov.hk/english/packing_tips.html).
  • Exemptions may be made for medications, baby milk/food and special dietary requirements, subject to verification.
  • Spare lithium batteries and power banks must not go in checked baggage.
  • Importing e-cigarettes, heated tobacco products and other alternative smoking products into Hong Kong is prohibited; the ban does not apply to a person arriving at Hong Kong International Airport in transit without passing through immigration control.
