Flying from Cairo? The verdict, the airport's own wording and its source link are below. Checked 12 October 2026 against the airport's own website. Same rules for hand luggage and carry-on.
Cairo Airport's own passenger guide says liquids over 100 ml are not allowed in baggage, except sealed duty-free bought inside the airport with the receipt. The clear-bag details come from EgyptAir.
| Liquid container limit | 100 ml limit |

What this means at Cairo International Airport
- Airport states (Customs Regulations page): "any liquid that exceeds 100ml" is banned, "except for the bought ones from the duty free inside airport on condition to be sealed and keeping the receipt to ensure the source to keep safety on board".
- The same page also says passengers may not carry flammable liquids, mercury, and liquid and dry batteries, and lists restrictions on some lithium electronic devices; read the full list on the airport's page before you pack.
- The airport's page does not describe the clear bag or whether it must be taken out of your bag. For that we use EgyptAir, Egypt's national carrier.
- EgyptAir states: all containers must be in a resealable transparent plastic bag no larger than one litre, approximately 20 cm x 20 cm, one bag per passenger, sealed and presented separately from all other carry-on baggage at the screening point.
- Exemptions exist for personal medications, baby products and dietary supplements, according to EgyptAir.
- No source consulted states whether laptops must be removed from hand baggage at Cairo, so we show whether laptops can stay in the bag as 'Not stated'.
