Toronto Pearson applies the CATSA rule: liquids, gels and aerosols must be in containers of 100 ml or less, packed together in one clear, closed, resealable plastic bag of no more than 1 litre. At the Terminal 1 International and Level 2 Domestic lines fitted with CT X-ray, you can leave that bag and your laptop inside your carry-on, but only where the CT sign is displayed.

What this means at Toronto Pearson International Airport
- Pearson's own wording: 'liquids, gels and aerosols must be in small containers of 100 ml or less, packed together in one clear, closed, resealable plastic bag no more than 1 L in capacity.'

- CATSA: at a CT-equipped line passengers 'will be able to keep large electronics (e.g. laptops), medical devices and permitted liquids, aerosols and gels (100mL or less each) in their carry-on baggage.'
- The 100 ml limit still applies in CT lanes: 'permitted liquids over 100ml must be removed from carry-on baggage and placed in a bin.'
- CATSA: 'Signage will be displayed in front of all lines or checkpoints that have CT X-ray technology available. If there is no CT sign displayed, passengers will need to remove their permitted liquids, aerosols and gels, along with large electronics from their carry-on baggage.' So liquids_in_bag_allowed/laptops_in_bag_allowed are true only on signed CT lines.

- CATSA exemptions from the 100 ml limit include baby food and formula for infants under 24 months, breast milk in any quantity, prescription medication, essential non-prescription medicines, gel/ice packs for medical use, liquids for diabetes management and distilled water for CPAP devices.
- Duty-free alcohol in carry-on has its own CATSA rules; check them before buying.
- Whether the 1 litre bag itself may be dispensed with in CT lanes is not stated - CATSA still describes the bag as required, only that it need not be taken out.
