What this means at Vancouver International Airport

• YVR's own wording: 'Containers must be 100ml or less and fit in a clear, 1L bag.'

• YVR became the first airport in Canada to adopt CATSA Plus CT equipment in September 2024; two domestic checkpoints were complete by 3 December 2025 and the airport said it would extend CT to every checkpoint, including International and US departures, during 2026: https://news.yvr.ca/security-screening-equipment-upgrade-yvr-domestic-terminal/
• The 100 ml limit is unchanged in CT lanes - CATSA states liquids over 100 ml must still come out and go in a bin.
• CATSA: where no CT sign is displayed, liquids and large electronics must be taken out of the bag, so the in-bag allowance is lane-by-lane.
• YVR refers travellers to CATSA for the full permitted/non-permitted list and for liquid exemptions.
• CATSA exemptions from the 100 ml limit include baby food and formula for infants under 24 months, breast milk in any quantity, prescription medication, essential non-prescription medicines, liquids for diabetes management and distilled water for CPAP devices.
• NEXUS members qualify for CATSA's Verified Traveller Program at YVR.
• YVR's page does not state duty-free carry-on rules; check CATSA's duty-free alcohol guidance.
