KLM Royal Dutch Airlines hand luggage rules

• Hand baggage maximum size of 55 x 35 x 25 cm includes handles and wheels.
• Economy Basic: 1 small bag only; hand baggage purchasable separately.
• Economy Light/Standard/Flex: 1 small bag + 1 hand baggage item.
• Premium Comfort: 1 small bag + 2 hand baggage items, 12 kg combined.
• Business Class: 1 small bag + 2 hand baggage items, 18 kg combined.
• The 12 kg (Economy and Premium Comfort) and 18 kg (Business) figures are combined limits for small bag plus hand baggage, not per-bag; no separate small-bag weight is published.
• Departures from the USA are limited by TSA rules to 1 hand baggage item + 1 small bag regardless of class.
• Infants on the lap: 1 item of max. 55 x 35 x 25 cm and max. 12 kg, plus baby food for the flight.
• Children with their own seat get the allowance of their ticket type.
• Tax-free/duty-free purchases are permitted; sealing is recommended for connecting passengers.

Liquids

Liquids in containers of more than 100 ml may not be brought through security; since 1 September 2024 a filled water bottle may no longer be carried through.
