What this means at Boston Logan International Airport
- Massport's wording: 'The TSA's 3-1-1 rule applies to liquids in carry-on baggage. Liquids must be in containers of 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less, all placed in one quart-sized, clear, plastic zip-top bag.'
- Massport also states: 'Laptop computers must be removed from bags and placed in a bin for screening.'
- On travelling with children, Massport states: 'Medications, baby formula and food, breast milk, and juice are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding 3.4 oz (100ml) and are not required to be in a zip-top bag'.
- TSA PreCheck lanes are available at checkpoints in all terminals (A, B, C and E); CLEAR is available in Terminals A and B only.
- Massport recommends arriving two hours before domestic departures and three hours before international departures.
- CAUTION - the Massport page also says 'outer garments and shoes must come off'. That is out of date: DHS/TSA ended the shoes-off requirement for most passengers on 8 July 2025.
- Massport notes that from 1 February 2026 travellers without acceptable ID can pay a $45 fee to use TSA ConfirmID.
- The page does not mention CT or 3-D scanners, so whether liquids may stay in the bag at any Logan lane is not stated.
- Solid food is generally fine through security; liquid and gel foods are subject to 3-1-1 (Massport).
