East Midlands still limits each liquid to 100ml, but they no longer need a plastic bag and can be left in your hand luggage during the search.

What this means at East Midlands Airport
- Airport states: 'You can pack liquids in your hand luggage, as long as each liquid is under 100ml.'
- Airport states: 'Liquids under 100ml no longer need to be in a plastic bag and can be left in your hand luggage.'
- Contradiction on the airport's own site: an FAQ block on its 'Speed through Security' guide still says 'Liquid containers must be packed in a clear, resealable plastic bag, no larger than 20cm x 20cm.' The main Security page (source above) is the current statement.
- laptops_in_bag_allowed is null: neither the Security page nor the guide states whether laptops or large electricals must be removed.
- Liquids in containers larger than 100ml cannot go through security even if only part full.
- Prescription medication over 100ml is allowed with proof of prescription, in the quantity needed for the journey.
- Baby food and baby milk may be in containers larger than 100ml.
- Duty free must be sealed in a transparent bag with the receipt visible and dated within 24 hours.
