Cardiff's Next Generation Security is fully operational: liquids are still limited to 100ml per container but stay inside your hand luggage, along with laptops, tablets and phones.

What this means at Cardiff Airport
- Airport states: 'Next Generation Security is now fully operational. The new technology allows passengers to leave liquids under 100ml in their hand luggage, along with all electronics.'
- Airport checklist states: 'All liquids must be in containers that are 100ml or less and placed inside your hand luggage.'
- Airport checklist states: 'Electrical items, such as laptops, tablets and mobile phones, can be left inside your hand luggage.'
- Contradiction on the same page: an older checklist block still says to place liquids 'in a sealed clear plastic bag no bigger than 20cm x 20cm' and to tray electrical items. The Next Generation Security statement above is the current one.
- Baby food and baby milk are considered essential and can be taken in containers of 100ml or over; they may be screened.
- The airport refers passengers to gov.uk/hand-luggage-restrictions for medication, liquids, gels, pastes and powders.
- Large amounts of cash and foreign currency must be declared in advance.
