What this means at Valencia Airport
- Aena publishes one hand-luggage rule for all its Spanish airports; it applies here.
- Aena says liquids, perfumes, creams, aerosols, foams, gels, shampoo and toothpaste must be in containers of no more than 100 ml each.
- They go in one transparent resealable plastic bag of no more than 1 litre (about 20 x 20 cm). One bag per passenger, children included, fully closed.
- Aena says the bag must be placed in the security checkpoint tray, separate from your luggage.
- Liquid medicines or special-diet liquids needed during the journey are allowed; Aena advises carrying your prescription or proof of your condition, including for children's food.
- Drinks, cosmetics and perfumes bought at airport shops or on an aircraft must stay in the sealed security bag with the receipt, unopened until you reach your final destination.
- Aena adds that security staff may ask for containers to be opened, and liquids that fail inspection cannot go through. The liquid limits do not apply to checked luggage.
- Aena's hand-luggage page does not say whether laptops must be taken out of the bag, so we show that as 'Not stated'.
