The short answer
For British citizens, GOV.UK says Turkey needs no visa for up to 90 days, Vietnam allows 45 days visa-free, Egypt and Cambodia require a visa, and Sri Lanka requires a free ETA. we did not read US sources, so US citizens should check the US State Department.
Turkey and Vietnam
- Turkey: British citizens can visit without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period for tourism or business. Passport must be valid for at least 150 days after arrival with at least one blank page.
- Vietnam: up to 45 days visa-free for tourism or business. An e-visa allows a 90-day multiple-entry stay. Passport must expire at least six months after arrival with at least two blank pages. The page lists no fees.
Egypt
British passport holders normally need a visa. The page describes an exception for stays under 15 days at Sharm El-Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba or Taba, arriving by air at Sharm El-Sheikh. Tourist e-visas are valid for up to 3 months, and visas on arrival at approved airports cost 30 US dollars in cash, valid up to 30 days. From 1 August 2026 Cairo International Airport also offers a digital visa on arrival for 36 US dollars including a 6 US dollar service fee. Passport must be valid 6 months after arrival.
Cambodia and Sri Lanka
- Cambodia: a visa is required. Tourist visas last 30 days. Request an e-visa at least four days before travel, or get a visa on arrival with a photo, paid in US dollars. Fees are not listed. If arriving by air at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Sihanoukville, submit the free electronic arrival card within 7 days before arrival. Passport must be valid 6 months.
- Sri Lanka: you need an Electronic Travel Authorization, described as a form of visa, issued free of charge according to the page, valid for 30 days. Passport must be valid 6 months after arrival.
US citizens
the official page does not read travel.state.gov or other US sources, so this page does not state US rules. Entry rules differ by nationality, so US citizens should check the US State Department country pages and the destination's official immigration site. Beware agents who charge more than official fees; the GOV.UK Egypt page says you do not need to buy a visa from an agent.
Rules and fees change, so check the official page before you travel.
