Qantas hand luggage and carry-on rules
- International Economy: 1 overhead bag (56 cm height x 36 cm width x 23 cm depth) plus 1 personal item, 7 kg maximum in total.
- International First, Business and Premium Economy: 1 overhead bag (56 x 36 x 23 cm), 1 underseat bag (34 cm height x 48 cm width x 23 cm depth) and 1 personal item, 14 kg total with a maximum of 10 kg per item.
- Domestic Economy and Business: 1 overhead bag, 1 underseat bag and 1 personal item, 14 kg total with a maximum of 10 kg per item.
- Domestic QantasLink Dash 8 Q400: 1 overhead bag and 1 personal item, 7 kg maximum. Small wheelie bags do not fit overhead and are collected at boarding and returned on arrival.
- All flights departing India: 1 overhead bag only, 7 kg maximum in Economy and 10 kg maximum in Business.
- The personal item is to be placed under the seat in front - for example one cross body bag, one small handbag, or one laptop in a slim bag. Qantas does not publish dimensions for the personal item. A laptop in a large laptop bag counts as part of the carry-on allowance instead.
- Qantas states: carry-on size is calculated by measuring a bag's height, width and depth, including any wheels and packed away handles.
- Infants have no separate carry-on allowance, but a small bag of necessities is permitted beyond the accompanying adult's allowance.
- Qantas publishes cm as the primary figure with inches in brackets (56 cm = 22 in, 36 cm = 14 in, 23 cm = 9 in).
